The IRC Nationals are organised by RORC (Royal Ocean Racing Club) with racing taking place in the Solent .
One of the main points that stands out about this event is the representation of just about every well known modern yacht manufacturer and designer. The various classes are split into groups of roughly the same speeds and with the courses being predominantly windward-leeward, it's the perfect recipe for boat on boat racing which is highly tactical with adrenalin pumping mark roundings.
The regatta comprises seven inshore races over three days so a real work out is guaranteed! With such consistently tough and challenging competition, many competitors consider this event to be the main inshore regatta of the season.

Anyone up for a challenging workout! Ideally competitors should have some level of experience to enable them to cope with the intensity of racing – participation in a previous regatta would qualify novice sailors to join the Activ Race Team. Experienced sailors will revel in the highly tactical and demanding racing.
