Based in Cowes , the Red Funnel Easter Challenge kicks off the RORC (Royal Ocean Racing Club) racing year with this regatta, seen as the curtain raiser for the season of great sailing ahead.
Billed as a training regatta, top RYA instructors are on hand with on-the-water tuition whilst racing and there are video debriefs afterwards which give more in-depth analysis.
The event attracts a huge variety of boats with hundreds of crew from all walks of life - from novices to top professional sailors.
The three days of racing include seven inshore ‘round the cans' races each with short legs designed to emphasise crew work and improve boat handling skills.
The event also offers a great social scene, providing top-quality entertainment and hospitality for all to enjoy.
